How to Prepare the Rooms for Your Carpet Stretching if the Rooms Have Furnishings in Them

When we stretch a room, all the work we perform is done at the perimeter of the room. Therefore, we need access to the perimeter. For that reason, all furnishings must be moved a minimum of five feet away from the walls. If you prefer to have us move the larger pieces, we offer a service at an additional charge. We utilize Teflon sliders to move the larger pieces away from the walls. We do not dismantle furniture in order to move it.

Two Techniques We Use to Remove the Winkles Near the Threshold of a Room

We prefer to stretch the carpet in th edirection of the wall opposite the thershold (Option 1). This will pull the wrinkle from the threshold. This technique is usually preferred due to the increased cost of cutting and seaming the therhold which is required id we strech the carpet toward the threshold.

Stretching Carpet in a Room with Threshold on the Left Side of the Room with a Closet

In most cases, when we stretch a room where the threshold is on the left side of the  room, we will stretch the carpet to the right and to the wall oppostie the rooms threshold. Or, stated differently, in the direction of the two walls that are furthest away form the threshold.

Stretching Carpet in a Room with a Threshold in the Middle of Room with a Closet

This is an alternative strategy, stretchign towarn the threshold and cutting the seam at the threshold. When we stretch a room where the Threshold is in the middle of the room, we will stretch the carpet to the right and top the left of the threshold and the wall opposite the rooms threshold. Or stated differently, in the direction of the three.

Stretching Carpet in a Room with a Fireplace in the Middle of the Room

This room has a fireplace in the center of the wall. Because of that we must pull the carpet off all three walls and along the hard surface so all furniture must be moved from all four sides of the room.

Stretching Carpet in a Room with Threshold on Right Side of Room with a Closet

In most cases, when we stretch a room where the threshold is on the right side of the room , we will stretch the carpet to the left and to the wall opposite the rooms threshold. Or stated differently, in the direction of the two walls that are furthest away from the threshold.

Stretching Carpet in One Room and Not the Other

When the wrinkles have developed in one room adjoining another room in this scenario, the dining room wouldn’t need to be stretched too because we can stretch the living room carpet away from the dining room which will pull the wrinkles out.

When we stretch a room where the threshold is in the middle of the room, we will stretch the carpet to the right and to the left of the threshold and the wall opposite the rooms threshold. Or stated differently, in the direction of the 3 walls that are furthest away from the threshold.
